Jesus Christ fulfilled his purpose while here on Earth. One of the reasons he was able to do this was his audacious determination to repetitively make decisions that pleased God first. Sometimes these decisions would please people, but sometimes not.

You can fulfill your purpose by putting God first

Christ held the Holy Scripture as the chief guide for life, and this manifested in the way he loved others and didn’t give in to temptations, even though he was attacked with every single one.

Hebrews 4:15

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

If we commit ourselves to following Christ’s example by trying to more closely align the decisions we make to the type of decisions God would have us to make, we will become better and better people.

We may not achieve perfection like Jesus Christ, but we certainly can become more scrupulous and spiritually mature; more able-bodied to fulfill our purpose – to fulfill what God is calling us to do.

Typically God doesn’t call us to do one grandiose thing in our lifetime, but many smaller things one day at a time – and I think that’s better for us because it’s easier to comprehend and thus work toward, and is more apt to encourage faithfulness in the believer.
